Every day, she rises early to sell food and kunu, a humble trade that has become her family's lifeline. With the little she earns, she supports herself and her children, keeping them in school and ensuring they have at least a fighting chance at a future different from her own. Her hands are never still, and her hope never fades even when the days are long and the returns are meager.
Yet even through the daily struggle of camp life, Talatu has remained hopeful and determined. She dreams of growing her small business so that it can provide more than just survival—so that her children can have proper school supplies, better living conditions, and the stability that displacement has stolen from them.
